Session 04 - Project Ironclaw¶
In the wake of a nearly catastrophic battle The Party discovers Acquisition Facility 3, and they get one termite-flight closer to escaping The Endless Wilds.
Summary¶
We open on a flashback to a lecture hall with a derelict holographic projector, some 20 adults in attendance with a Helion core patch on their shoulder. Dr Scirdo, an orcish professor finishes their lecture on the Elemental Plane of Earth, and moves to lecture on the barred planes –– Those places where travel is unauthorized by the Congress, and harshly punishable. A focused Celyne Serulei listens intently to the information on the The Endless Wilds, which is deemed too inherently chaotic for the congress to colonize.
In the aftermath of the battle with the mechanical t-rex, Kay and Zed find a metal door blasted by hard-light cannonfire. The whirring sounds of mechanical animals within, greet the party as they walk through it. There are cages with large feathered lizards, some younger versions of the t-rex –– though not yet mechanically enhanced. There are many control panels and mechanical devices in the room –– very advanced according to Celyne.
This facility is seemingly creating the fog. It is labelled Project Ironclaw, Acquisition Facility 3, an operation of Starweave Enterprise. We find two vials of Practical Fable, one of Navigate and Mechanics respectively.
We see ledgers addressed to an MB, detailing experiments and facility reports. But the Project Ironclaw file remains encrypted, but downloaded to Celyne’s Drive.
The party rigs up the facility with ship fuel, and detonates it. The flying termites then receive the party’s signal, and come to escort them away.
Mid-flight, a fight ensues against 2 metal-plated Terrasaurs. The party manages to defeat them but sustains heavy blows. Kay noticed a blue fluid coming from the creatures, that smells of copper and tastes of citrus.
Taking some time to rest, Celyne manages to decrypt the Project Ironclaw files. It reveals that Director Ivanna Krieg is in charge of the project. She came up in Zenith, and was in the same class as Gaelin Damiran, inventor of the myrmidon drones. The documents reveal many aspects about the project, but the control exertion aspect remains redacted. There is one main base of the project, and 5 acquisition facilities. The main base contains a stitch in it, which is where Kay’s compass points to.
Kay knows that The Plane of Shadow is a target of utmost importance for the Congress, and if Krieg is able to present something capable of launching an attack, she would rise to prowess over Damiran.
With that, the party prepares for their assault on the main facility of Project Ironclaw, where both villains and their way out awaits.
